Giving this another try this week. As a reminder, this is just my picks. If you disagree on what I’ve got, feel free to make your argument in the comments. Heck, post your own rankings there if you wish.
#1 – Alabama (7-0) Last week: #2
Probably should have been in the top spot all along, but I figure until the defending champion loses the best you can be is number two. Well, Clemson lost and the Crimson Tide strolled over Arkansas 49-9 to earn the number one ranking. Alabama hosts Tennessee (3-3) in week eight.
#2 – Penn State (6-0) Last week: #3
The Nittany Lions were idle last week, but with Clemson dropping a few spots Penn State gets to jump up one to number two. The Nittany Lions host #7 Michigan (5-1) in week eight.
#3 – Georgia (6-0) Last week: #4
The Bulldogs had little trouble with Missouri in their 53-28 win. The next three games are the real test for Georgia, who are idle in week eight.
#4 – Clemson (6-1) Last week: #1
The Tigers dropped three spots after their stunning defeat to Syracuse 27-24, and may have fallen even further had not several other top-ten teams also lost. Clemson likely still controls its own destiny into the College Football Playoff. They are idle in week eight.
#5 – Wisconsin (6-0) Last week: #6
The Badgers didn’t look that good in the 17-9 victory over Purdue, but Wisconsin reaps the benefits of several top teams being upset by jumping into the top five. They host Maryland (3-3) in week eight.
#6 – Ohio State (6-1) Last week: #7
Week seven: beat Nebraska 56-14
Week eight: idle
#7 – Michigan Last week: #8
Week seven: beat Indiana 27-20
Week eight: at #2 Penn State (6-0)
#8 – Miami (Fla) (5-0) Last week: #9
Week seven: beat Georgia Tech 25-24
Week eight: vs Syracuse (4-3)

Week seven: lost to Arizona State 13-7
Week eight: idle
