The Worcester Red Sox entered last week’s series at Polar Park against the International League’s East Division first-half champion Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) in first place in the second-half standings, and then promptly lost the first five games en route to a 1-5 week as they tumbled down the standings, landing in fifth place with just three weeks to go in the regular season.
