The Worcester Red Sox visited the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for their last series of the 2-23 season needing a sweep and a lot of help, help they did not get, and ended up with a 2-2-2 series, with each team winning twice and having two games canceled due to weather. Worcester finished the second half of the International League’s season in fifth place with a 40-32 record. They finished the season with a combined record of 79-68, the fourth-best in the East Division.
