Am I reading that right? Mike Tirico is calling two Wild Card games on back-to-back days? Does NBC not have a third play-by-play man?
They do, it’s usually Al Michaels. But they decided to not give him a game this year.
Oh, right. Well, I get why they cut Michaels, but they don’t have a fourth option? If they’re sticking with Tirico, he has to do the game in Kansas City, then catch a red-eye to Detroit (or fly the following morning) and do that game. At least he’ll have different commentators for both games, but he’s still going to be worn out.
NBC is likely flying him private right after the game.
