The “210 Awards” for the Worcester Bravehearts 2024 season

As we’ve reached the end of the 2024 season for the Worcester Bravehearts it’s time to hand out some awards. Named for the moniker this blogger used on several sports message boards, the “210 Awards” officially began in 2009 when the Worcester Sharks were in town. Starting in the 2015 season the award posting was begun for the Bravehearts.

We’ll first look at some of the official awards and accomplishments of the Bravehearts during the regular season, with Brady Stuart winning the FCBL’s “Pitcher of the Month” for May/June. Stuart was the only Bravehearts pitcher to win “Pitcher of the Week”, winning it in back-to-back weeks in early July (7/1 and 7/8). WooBall also had two “Player of the Week” winners, with Dylan LaPointe being named twice (6/5 and 7/1) and Owen Pincince once (8/5).

Winners of the FCBL’s “Player of the Night” were Dylan LaPointe (6/28 and 8/2), Jackson Marshall (7/21 and 8/1), Matt Milone (5/30 and 7/5), CJ Egrie (6/7), Carter Hanson (8/4), Jacob Hurrell (6/27), Tyler McCord (5/24), and Owen Pincince (6/30).

FCBL “Pitcher of the Night” winners were Josh Fischer (8/4), Aidan Greene (5/29), Ben Griffith (7/3), Mavrick Rizy (5/25), and Brady Stuart (6/28).

During the season the Bravehearts would occasionally announce a sponsored “Player of the Game”, with Nik Pavia winning twice (6/16, 7/13), and John Connolly (6/20), Jacob Hurrell (6/27), Jackson Marshall (7/21), Matt Milone (7/12), Owen Pincince (5/31), and Cody Smith (6/2) all being named once.

Several Bravehearts were named to the FCBL’s All-Star game, with Dylan LaPointe (Starting C, 1-3), Owen Pincince (Starting RF, 0-2), Cody Smith (0-2, R, BB), and Brady Stuart (Starter, 1IP) all participating. Shea Grady, Matt Milone, and Nik Pavia were all selected for the All-Star game but did not participate.

Jackson Marshall was the winner of the FCBL’s Home Run Debry that took place the day before the All-Star game.

The FCBL often announces an “All-FCBL Team” and other post-season awards, but as of posting time that had not taken place yet.

As always, the following “210 Awards” are just one man’s opinion. If you think I got one wrong, feel free to leave a comment below or on our Facebook page. Also, I generally like to limit the number of categories a player can win to spread the mentions around a bit. Take that into account when deciding if my picks are wrong.

Also, I usually write a little blurb about each winner, but because of time constraints due to another project, we’ll just list the winners this time.
