Thanksgiving sees many former Worcester pros at the top of their leagues (2025-26 edition)

As we pass Thanksgiving Day, it’s time to take our first look at how some current and former Worcester pro players are doing statistically during the 2025-2026 season. For the North American pro leagues, any player in their league’s top 20 gets a mention. For the European leagues, it’s the top ten. Goaltenders are listed only if they meet their league’s qualifying minimums.

All statistics and rankings are current as of December 2nd.

There’s only one entry for the NHL, with Tomas Hertl of the Vegas Golden Knights having five power play goals, which ties for 12th in the league. In the AHL, Yanick Turcotte‘s 62 PIM for the Chicago Wolves ranks fifth. For goaltenders, San Jose’s Jakub Skarek ties for ninth place with seven wins.

In the ECHL, for Railers skaters, Lincoln Hatten is third in the league with 55 PIM, Drew Callin‘s three power play goals tie for 11th, Matt Demelis‘ two game winners tie for tenth and his two overtime goals tie for tops in the league.

For the former Worcester skaters in the league, Devon Paliani of the Tahoe Knight Monsters has eight goals, tying for 13th. Florida’s Reece Newkirk‘s three power play goals tie for 11th, and tying for tenth with two game-winners each are Wheeling’s Ryan Mahshie, Bloomington’s Eddie Matsushima, and Greensboro’s Wade Murphy. Cincinnati’s Cole Fraser leads the ECHL in PIMs with 63, Connor Doherty‘s 44 PIMs for Florida ranks fifth, and Artem Kulakov‘s 39 for Reading ties for ninth.

For the ECHL goaltenders, Henrik Tikkanen‘s five wins tie for 12th, his two shutouts tie for second, his 2.03 GAA ranks eighth, and his .929 save% ranks tenth. For the former Railer netminders, Cincinnati’s Ken Appleby is tied for third with seven wins.

In the SPHL, Quad City’s Nick Pennucci is fourth in the league in PIM with 47, and Pensacola’s Tim Faulkner is 12th with 37 PIM. For the netminders, Brody Claeys of Roanoke has three wins, tying him for ninth, and is one of five goaltenders to register a shutout this season. His 2.54 GAA ranks eighth, and his .920 save% ranks seventh.

Overseas, in DEL2 Jon Matsumoto‘s 16 assists tie him for fifth, and Max Newton‘s 21 points tie him for tenth. In the EIHL, Mitchell Balmas‘ ten goals tie him for second, his ten assists tie for tenth, and 20 points tie for the league lead. Eamon McAdam‘s three EIHL wins tie him for tenth, but he hadn’t played enough minutes to be qualified in other statistics.

In Liiga, Evan Buitenhuis‘ eight wins tie for fourth, his 2.26 GAA is fifth, and his .907 save% is fourth. Harri Sateri‘s 11 wins in the Swiss NL tie him for fifth. In the ICEHL, Austin Osmanski‘s 44 PIMs rank second, and Nick Saracino‘s plus-14 rating ties for third. And finally, in Norway, goaltender Mitch Gillam leads the league in wins (17), GAA (1.40), and save% (.942)
