Earlier during the winter, The Futures League announced its 2026 schedule. The league’s 16th season of summer baseball will begin on Wednesday, May 27, with the Worcester Bravehearts opening on the road, taking on the Westfield Starfires in a 10:30am start. Postseason action is expected to begin on Monday, August 10.
All six of last season’s teams will be returning to action, and The Futures League has added a seventh, the Lowell Spinners. The Spinners are returning to LeLacheur Park at UMass-Lowell. The Pittsfield Suns remain inactive for the 2026 season while renovations to Wahconah Park continue. News articles say the Pittsfield Parks Commission and the Suns have an agreement that the Suns will use the Wahconah Park for play as soon as it’s able to host games.
