Earlier today the Worcester Railers announced they have traded forward Woody Hudson to the Indy Fuel for defenseman Robert Powers.
Hudson, a fan favorite, was the Railers representative for the 2018 ECHL All-Star game held in Indy last season. His 19 goals last season ranked second on the team trailing on Barry Almeida, and his 29 points was fourth best on the squad.
This season Hudson hasn’t been able to replicate the successes of last season, as his five goals and 12 points both rank him ninth on Worcester. He was a healthy scratch for all three game this past weekend, presumably to avoid injury as General Manager Jamie Russell looked for a trading partner.
He returns to the city where his pro career began in 2017 as he played 11 games for Indy after his four year career at St. Lawrence University.
Powers heads to the Railers after putting up four goals and 15 assists in 41 games with the Fuel. The Ajax, Ontario native began his pro career last season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits after finishing his career at Robert Morris University.
