1999 5-4 loss exhibition at Hartford (South Windsor, CT)
The Worcester IceCats and Hartford Wolf Pack played a see-saw battle in their preseason match-up, but two Hartford third period goals put them on top in a 5-4 final. Alain St. Hilaire put the ‘Cats up with a goal assisted by Jame Pollock at 3:04 of the opening period. Jeff Brown tied the game for Hartford at 8:08. In the second stanza, Didier Tremblay put Worcester back out in front on the power play at 12:28, assisted by Jeremy Reich. David Oliver once again knotted it for the Wolf Pack at 13:39. At 1:44 of the third period Francois Fortier gave Hartford its first lead of the game on the power play, but Pollock would tie it at 2:03 with Tomaz Razingar assisting. Reich gave Worcester it’s third lead of the night at 10:04, with Marc Brown providing the helper. But Hartford would grab the next two, with Mike Harder scoring at 11:09 and Brad Smyth tallying at 18:46, for the 5-4 final. Alex Westlund had 30 saves in goal for the ‘Cats.
