1998 4-3 OT exhibition win at Hartford (South Windsor Arena, South Windsor, CT)
The Worcester IceCats got an overtime game winner from Shayne Toporowski at 1:55 of the extra session to defeat the Wolf Pack 4-3. Stephane Roy opened the scoring for the ‘Cats at 8:20 when he banged home the rebound of Ivan Droppa’s shot. Derek Diener made it 2-0 about a minute later when he followed the rebound of his own shot and fired it back on net. Hartford grabbed the next three to take the lead, but in the third Kevin Sawyer tied it at 10:23 with a nifty wrist shot from the slot. That sent the game to overtime where Toporowski won it. Scott Roche went the distance for the IceCats.

2003 0-0 exhibition tie at Bridgeport (Wonderland of Ice, Bridgeport, CT)
(CANOE) Bridgeport and Worcester opened their 2003 preseason schedules with a scoreless tie. Rookie Wade Dubielewicz made 32 saves for the Sound Tigers (0-0-1), while Cody Rudkowsky turned aside 26 shots for the IceCats (0-0-1). The IceCats Jay McClement thought he had scored the winning goal in the first minute of overtime, but the Sound Tigers’ net was ruled off its moorings.
