1994 1-1 exhibition tie at Albany (Knickerbocker Ice Arena, Lansingburgh, NY)
The Worcester IceCats, playing in the franchise’s first preseason game, got a game tying goal by Yves Heroux unassisted at 19:48 of the third period on the power play and with an extra attacker. Heroux intercepted an Albany clearing pass at the left point and fired a high wrist shot through a screen. Curt Regnier scored for the River Rats at 9:04 of the second period. Wayne Cowley and Tom Cole split the goaltending duties.

1999 4-3 OT exhibition loss at Springfield
The Worcester IceCats and Springfield Falcons needed extra time to determine the winner of their preseason match-up, and it was the Falcons getting the overtime goal to win 4-3. Andrej Podkonicky got the ‘Cats on the board at 2:47 of the opening period, assisted by Jamie Thompson and Tomaz Razingar. Casey Kesselring tied it for the Falcons at 8:18, but Libor Prochazka gave Worcester the lead back at on the power play at 11:22, with Tyler Rennette and James Desmarais providing the helpers. At 1:02 of the middle period Trent Cull made it 2-2 with a goal for Springfield. Just 54 seconds into the third period Jason Norrie gave Springfield the lead on the power play, but Marty Reasoner would force overtime with a goal at 9:09, assisted by Ladislav Nagy. In overtime, with Jan Horacek sitting in the box for high sticking, Eric Healey would win it for Springfield with the power play goal. Cody Rudkowsky made 26 saves in the game for Worcester.
